Common Management Admission Test (CMAT), the yearly exam for admitting students to post-graduation management courses, will be held on 28 January 2020. CMAT 2020 Cut-off and Merit List
The average performance of the students is the criteria for deciding the cut-off marks. Furthermore, one needs to meet the cut-off for qualifying CMAT. Moreover, every college has their own cut-off marks. The score of a candidate should be more than the cut-off marks for proceeding ahead with the admission. But, this need not be the final criteria for admission. Many colleges conduct Personal Interviews (PI) and Group Discussions (GD) as a final procedure. If one qualifies this stage, he is admitted to the institution.
The result is accompanied by a merit list. Students with remarkable comparative performance feature in this list. Higher the score, the better rank in the merit list. Your rank in the merit list is determinant of the fact that which all colleges you can apply for.
How is the CMAT Score calculated?
The calculation of the raw score to prepare the CMAT Result 2020 is pretty easy. National Testing Agency (NTA) has given a marking scheme. This scheme helps in calculating the raw score. Furthermore, the raw score assists in the computation of the percentile score. With the percentile score, the final result is assembled.
- Examiner awards 4 marks for every correct choice
- Also, 1 mark is reduced from the total score for each wrong choice.

How is a tie broken?
It’s commonly observed that two or more students get the same marks. For such situations, certain rules are laid. These rules decide that which candidate will be given preference in the merit list. NTA has given a very basic criteria for deciding who ranks higher with same marks. The attribute that helps a candidate get a higher rank are as follows-
- The ranking will be done on sectional scores considered in the order of:
- Data Interpretation and Quantitative Techniques score must be higher as the test is for management courses.
- Secondly, the Logical Reasoning score makes a difference.
- Thirdly, the higher rank is secured by the person who gets better marks in Language Comprehension.
- Lastly, the General Awareness score is compared.
- Applicants who have less negative marks in the Examination.
- Applicants older in age.

- Firstly, open the official website, in your web browser.
- Click on the ‘View CMAT Result 2020’ dialogue box.
Step 2: Log in on the website
- The view result dialogue box will redirect you to a log in page.
- To log in, use the application number and password.
Step 3: Download the result
- Now that you are on the final page, download the result.
- Print the result for further reference.
After the result declaration, the next step is counseling. To be a part of the counseling process of any institute, you must meet the cut-off marks. If you do, then apply for the admission process to that particular college. CMAT score is regarded in 1000 colleges across the country. But, it may not be the final selection criteria. Most of the highly acclaimed colleges conduct GD/PI sessions for admitting students. If you score well in these areas, you’re given the admission.
